About Dr. Friedman
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist providing psychotherapy to adults and adolescents experiencing an array of emotional and behavioral challenges. I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I have worked at many settings, including hospitals, community mental health centers, schools, and private practices. I bring years of experience and training to help clients accurately identify the roots to their challenges, shift to healthier perspectives, and discover realistic, attainable paths to their goals.
My clinical approach is informed by relational and psychodynamic theoretical frameworks, in addition to mindfulness-based practices. I strive for a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, safety, mutual respect, and authenticity. A strong working relationship sets the foundation for deeper reflection and understanding. I work with clients to promote richer awareness of how past experiences and relationships influence thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and decisions.
I aim to create a warm, non-judgmental therapeutic space for individuals to explore thoughts and feelings, understand and improve relationship dynamics, and feel more in control of maladaptive behavioral patterns and stress responses. I also help those I work with increase self-care, self-esteem, mindfulness, and satisfaction. My own disposition is an ingredient in the co-created therapeutic space, which allows me to naturally incorporate humor, curiosity, and creativity as a way to help those I work with deepen self-awareness, feel understood and accepted, and experience growth.
